- Master’s Degree required.
- Valid Georgia teaching certificate (SLP SRS5).
- Valid Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) in speech-language pathology issued by the ASHA.
- Routine physical activities required to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Written and oral communication, planning, organization.
Reports to: Principal
- Demonstrate prompt and regular attendance.
- Evaluate communication skills of students referred and diagnose speech and/or language disorders.
- Assure placement of students in the speech-language program and develop and implement speech-language goals/objectives on individualized education plans according to established due process procedures.
- Conduct and/or participate in IEP meetings.
- Schedule students appropriately.
- Provide consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies to integrate speech-language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environment.
- Report and maintain student data to assess progress and continuation or termination of services.
- Comply with state and district regulations regarding due process paperwork and Medicaid documentation.
- Refer to other agencies and/or personnel when appropriate.
- Investigate and use new strategies for delivering student services.
- Participate in professional learning opportunities provided.
- Collaborate with school administrators/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of the speech-language program into the total educational system.
- Participate in MTSS process at local school level as needed.
- Report information required for local, state, and federal programs.
- Maintain special education records for speech-language students at local school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
Terms of Employment: 190‑day position. Salary based on Board approved certified teacher pay schedule.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually by the Principal or designee.
