Remote Full Time General

Special Education Program SpecialistPrimary Purpose: To provide leadership, coordination, and support in the development and implementation of special education programs and services across the district. The SPED Program Specialist works collaboratively with campus staff, service providers, and administrators to ensure compliance with regulations and promote best practices for students with disabilities.Qualifications:Master's degree in Special Education or related field (preferred)Valid Texas teaching certificate with Special Education endorsementMinimum of three years of teaching experience in Special EducationStrong knowledge of IDEA, ARD procedures, and program developmentSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Knowledge of instructional and behavioral strategiesStrong communication and collaboration skillsData analysis and problem-solving abilityAbility to manage multiple tasksMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Provide support to special education teachers and staff on instruction and complianceMonitor implementation of IEPsFacilitate ARD/IEP meetings and assist with complex casesAnalyze data for instructional planning and progress monitoringSupport inclusion practices and specialized programsProvide staff development and trainingCollaborate with service providers and administratorsMonitor compliance through walkthroughs and auditsAssist with hiring and mentoring new staffServe as a liaison between the department and campusesPerform other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibilities: NoneWorking Conditions:Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors: Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent prolonged and irregular hours.

Frequent districtwide travel.*Minimum Salary $66,000 for fully certified *Stipend $4,000 *Salary is commensurate with experience *Works 195 Day Calendar * Please note that this role requires in-person attendance and is not eligible for remote work.Sheldon ISD will accept applications for this position through May 20, 2026.
