Specialty Clinic Nurse Nephrology Clinic

Overview

In Nephrology Clinic at Main Campus Lowder Building.

Work schedule will be Full‑time on the Day Shift, 4 Days a week – 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and/or 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The Specialty Care Services Specialty Clinic Nurse is a professional nurse who assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for patients and families in an outpatient specialty care clinic setting.

Credentials

• Registered Nurse AL Single State or any of the following equivalent qualifications:
  • Registered Nurse AL NLC Multi State
  • Registered Nurse Non‑AL NLC Multi State
• Basic Life Support

Education

• Bachelor of Science Nursing in Nursing or any of the following equivalent qualifications:
  • Associate of Science Nursing in Nursing and 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient

Experience

• 1 Year job experience as Staff Level with specialization in the field of Nursing Outpatient (Nonessential)

Clinic Services

The clinic includes six Board Certified Pediatric Nephrologist, one Board Certified Pediatric Hepatologist, nine Board Certified Infectious Disease Physicians, and academic fellows, residents, and certified nurse practitioners providing care under the supervision of attending MDs. Services include renal and liver transplant, nephrotic syndrome, hematuria, ESRD, and Post‑Covid Care. A multidisciplinary team (surgical, medical, pharmacy, nutrition, financial coordinator, psycho‑social team including social workers, psychologists, family counselors, school teachers and child life specialists) supports complex patients. Basic referral information is required for new patient consults and may be requested prior to arrival for appointment related to symptoms, prior history, tests and procedures performed.
