Specialized Health Care Nurse (LVN)

Job Title

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, provide specialized health care services for the care of students in severely disabled programs; and do other related work as required. Ability to: Provide basic nursing skills to administer health care to severely handicapped students; Effectively create and maintain records, and accurately compile and complete required reports; Serve as a resource, provide training and guidance, identify problems, and recommend solutions; Work independently with directives, and follow established policies and practices; Be flexible and receptive to change; Attend in-service training, conferences and meetings, as needed.

Requirements / Qualifications

Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent is required. Graduation from an accredited Licensed Vocational Nurses Training Program. Health care related experience is required. Previous experience working with severely handicapped students in a school setting is highly desirable. Possess a valid California Licensed Vocational Nurse license and CPR Certification Card. Possess a valid California driver license and maintain insurability. Must be able to provide your own reliable transportation to work sites within Kings County. Transport students from time to time as required, in a county office vehicle. Participate in random alcohol and controlled substances testing as delineated in Superintendent Policy , , and Administrative Regulation , and . Please attach a copy of transcripts if applicable.
