Position Overview

Salary range: Specialist Series – All Levels. A reasonable estimate for this position is $57,000–$201,700. Specialist Series – Represented Fiscal Year.

Position Description

The Department of Medicine at the University of California, Irvine anticipates openings in the Specialist Series in various divisions.

The Divisions Are

  • Immunology
  • Infectious Diseases
  • Cardiology
  • Nephrology and Hypertension
  • Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism
  • Gastroenterology
  • Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine
  • General Internal Medicine and Primary Care
  • Rheumatology
  • Hematology/Oncology
  • Occupational and Environmental Medicine

Positions are dependent upon extramural funding. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Initial appointments are for one year, and renewal is based on availability of support. Applications will be considered until positions are filled.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Junior Specialists – baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) or equivalent research experience. Assistant Specialists – master’s degree (or equivalent) or five years of experience demonstrating expertise. Associate Specialists – master’s degree (or equivalent) or five to ten years of experience and a record of academic accomplishments. Full Specialists – terminal degree or ten or more years of experience and a significant record of academic accomplishments, professional recognition, and service.
