What We Are Looking ForThis position reports to Finance leadership and supports the Products Pipelines business unit through financial analysis, project cost control, and reporting.

The role partners closely with Operations, Accounting, Commercial teams, and Project Managers to deliver accurate financial insights, monitor performance, and support strategic planning, budgeting, and regulatory compliance.What You Will DoFinancial Analysis & ReportingTrack and analyze financial and operational performance of segment assetsPrepare and coordinate weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting, including forecasts, variance analysis, trend reporting, and management reportsSupport monthly reviews, quarterly business reviews (QBRs), annual budgets, and long-range planning processesDevelop and maintain recurring and ad hoc financial reports to support business decision-makingAssist in preparation of executive-level presentations and meeting reportsProject Cost Control & ForecastingDevelop, update, and maintain detailed project cost reports and forecasting models (EAC, ETC, current/future year spend, etc.)Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor budgets, track project spending, and identify potential cost overrunsAnalyze variances, trends, and irregularities to identify key drivers and communicate insights to leadershipSupport annual budget preparation and ongoing forecast revisionsMonitor contingency usage and project completion milestonesAccounting, Compliance & ControlsEnsure accurate classification of costs in accordance with GAAP, FERC, and company policiesSupport audit and compliance requirements, including adherence to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controlsReview and validate accruals, commitments, invoices, and change ordersAssist with AFE/PRN documentation and approval processesMaintain proper documentation supporting financial transactions and reportingCross-Functional CollaborationServe as liaison between Finance, Accounting, Operations, Commercial teams, and Project ManagementSupport field operations and regional teams with reporting, analysis, and issue resolutionParticipate in cost review meetings, budget discussions, and project status meetingsProvide analytical support for strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and expansion projectsProcess Improvement & Special ProjectsIdentify opportunities to improve reporting tools, forecasting processes, and data accuracyDevelop automation and enhancements using Excel and other systemsPerform ad hoc analysis and participate in special projectsWhat You NeedEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or related fieldTypically 3–7 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, accounting, or project cost controlsExperience in energy, pipelines, logistics, or similar industries preferredTechnical SkillsAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Access, VBA, or similar tools preferredFamiliarity with ERP systems (e.g., Lawson or equivalent)Strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and variance analysisCore CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentSelf-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and in a teamAbility to build effective relationships across multiple stakeholder groupsHigh degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential informationAdditional InformationPosition level will be commensurate with experience and skill setOccasional overtime may be required to meet deadlines or support projectsHybrid and flexible work schedule options may be availableWhy Join Kinder MorganKinder Morgan is a large energy infrastructure company operating in North America.
