Today, we're on the lookout for energetic people with the potential to perform, as well as the ability to strengthen - and thrive in - the positive work environment we pride ourselves on.Location: La Vergne, TN  POSITION SUMMARYManage pipeline inventory to support customer requirements through analysis, planning, ordering, continual monitoring and occasional intervention while minimizing any extraordinary expenses associated with these steps.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESManage Inventory Pipeline
Issue timely orders to manufacturing in the approved format with approved ordering parametersOrder and maintain inventory at target to reduce inventory costStrive for 100% delivery to the customer: with input from multiple internal departments, manufacturing and the customer, ensure customer coverage with the lowest cost option initiating management-approved premium freight if essentialCoordinate incoming timing with internal departmentsAnalyze and report delivery performanceManage Premium Freight Order
Utilize appropriate processes and systems to log and order premium freightCoordinate transportation requirements between multiple Yazaki groups and the customerDetermine cost responsibility based on agreements or negotiations with manufacturing or the customerManage Obsolescence / Balance Out
Order for zero obsolescenceKeep manufacturing on-point for minimal obsolescence as customer demand changesDetermine cost responsibility based on agreements or negotiations with manufacturing or the customerProcess customer claims and scrap quickly to minimize obsolescence and carrying costsAct as the liaison for both the customer and manufacturing
Ensure timely responses to their communicationAssist customer with delivery issuesSupport engineering changes with manufacturing and the customerInform customer of any impact to delivery or their build in a timely manner including support plans, commitment timing, recovery timing and root cause as requiredManage part registration in applicable system ensuring the system is ready to receive EDI and transmit orders to manufacturingManage late requests from the customerRepresent Production Control at customer and manufacturing meetingsUtilize customer systems as necessaryComplete required reports and metricsUnderstand when escalation is required and appropriately initiate itMay monitor manufacturing’s output to plan for each Trial Event, updating the carline team on order statusMay support specific prototype / preproduction meetings (e.g. component procurement / shortage and Supplier Readiness)May coordinate shipment timing and special requirements with DistributionMay coordinate component consignments with manufacturing and the supplierMay process customer orders in applicable system as necessarySupport long-range and short-term group forecasts, goals, objectives, and prioritiesSupport other projects, tasks, and/or duties as assignedREQUIREMENTSDegree Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management, or related field or equivalent experience preferredCertification Requirements:Unique to Sr. Material Planner: APICS classes or certification preferredPrevious Experience:Required minimum years of experience in Supply Chain or related fieldNonePreferred years of experience in Supply chain and project management or related field0 – 3 yearsTravel Requirements:Both domestic and international travel could be required between Yazaki facilities and to customer and manufacturing sitesLanguage:English is required for all Material Planners.  Spanish is required if a planner directly interacts with customers in Mexico.Software:SAP, Success Factors and Microsoft SuiteOn Call Requirements:During customer production hours including overtime, weekend hours and holidays.
