General Description
The Floor Care Technician is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment by properly maintaining floor surfaces. Prior knowledge of chemical safety and maintenance is beneficial. Employee can perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
Essential Functions
- Clean floors in offices, hallways, and stairwells by sweeping and mopping, and operating floor care equipment such as automatic scrubbers, floor machines, carpet machines, and wet/dry vacuums
- Properly use chemicals to properly maintain floor surfaces
- Dispose of trash and debris at job sites properly
- Uses knowledge of chemical safety to maintain chemicals and supplies on site
- Maintain positive client relations by displaying professionalism
- Use timekeeping system, keys, and security codes.
- Report any needed supplies and equipment repairs to the supervisor, along with any potential hazards
- Complete non-routine/emergency cleaning as specified by work orders
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Availability to work assigned hours and the ability to take direction and work with minimal supervision
- Precision and attention to detail
- Previous cleaning and floor care experience preferred.
- Floor Technicians must possess valid driver's license, to ensure the ability to travel independently to respective job sites and drive company vehicles.
- The nature of the work is physical, requires uninhibited manual dexterity, lifting, bending, twisting, pushing and pulling 25 pounds repeatedly and up to 60 pounds (occasionally).
- May be required to work atop ladders and operate mechanical equipment.
- Work is performed in a variety of conditions, may be exposed to extreme temperatures (0-90 degrees)
