Job Summary
The Special Program Aid (Nurse Practitioner) under general direction, provides patient care, evaluations, and treatment. Diagnoses, treats, and prescribe certain medications for illnesses and injuries.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care, assessments, counseling,preparation, and treatment.
- Documents patient care.
- Prescribes medicines upon diagnoses of illness or injury, underthe direction of a physician and within the limitations of NursePractitioner regulations.
- Maintains and monitors patient records, assesses health careneeds, and provides patient education.
- Interprets lab and/or x-ray results.
- Performs follow-up care in conjunction with other nursingstaff.
- Serves on committees, providing presentations and participatingin divisional staff development.

Additional Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive women's health services, includingperforming Pap smears, conducting reproductive and sexual healthassessments, diagnosing and managing gynecologic conditions, anddelivering patient-centered education on contraception, STIprevention, and overall sexual wellness.
- Provide sexual health education and comprehensive STI screeningand testing, including risk assessment, diagnostic evaluation,treatment, and patient counseling on prevention and safepractices.
- In an emergency, will provide care to stabilize or preventdeterioration of a patient's condition and immediately thereafternotify the supervising physician.
- Immediate physician consultation or referral for acute healthproblems of complex nature identified by NP
- Monthly quality assurance review with supervising physician todiscuss information related to patient care and treatment, changesin patient care plans, issues related to referrals, and discussionof patient care improvements.
Minimum Requirements
- Education : Master's degree in nursing or equivalentcombination of education and experience.
- Experience : One year of related experience.
Knowledge and Abilities
Knowledge of:
- Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.Knowledge of standard nursing procedures and techniques.
Ability to:
- Multitask and work cooperatively with others.
- Verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-makingskills.
- Ability to work with sensitive information and maintainconfidentiality.
- Ability to use and manage an Electronic Medical Records (EMR)system.
Licensing / Professional Certification
Certified Nurse Practitioner (NP), licensed Registered Nurse (RN),and CPR certified.

Pay of Rate
$58 per hour for approximately 8 hoursweekly
