The Special Procedures Technologist performs interventional and other special radiologic procedures under physician supervision. This role prepares patients, operates imaging equipment, follows sterile and radiation safety practices, and administers contrast media as allowed. The technologist documents exams in systems such as PACS and Meditech, responds to patient reactions, participates in call coverage, and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and patients of all ages.
