About the Role

The Special Operations Clinical Psychologist will provide technical expertise, guidance, and direct clinical service to special operations forces (SOF).

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Develop, plan and initiate resiliency programs to prevent and treat behavioral health issues, supporting all aspects of a service member’s readiness and resiliency.
• Conduct psychological evaluations utilizing information from clinical interviews, psychological testing, and collateral sources as appropriate.
• Practice within the guidelines of state licensing boards, the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles and Code of Conduct, and MTF privileges.
• Establish psychiatric diagnoses according to the American Psychiatric Association Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Disorders and provide psychological treatment for individuals and groups, assisting medical and surgical patients with illnesses or injuries and aiding in rehabilitation.

Required Education / Experience / Skills / Training

• U.S. Citizenship.
• Secret Clearance or Top Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain a clearance.
• Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) from an American Psychological Association accredited institution with a degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
• Successful completion of an Internship/Residency in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
• Minimum of two (2) years of peer-reviewable clinical practice in a mental health setting.
• Compliance with clinical competency requirements specified in the Service-specific credentialing instructions.
• Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a psychologist in any U.S. state, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or U.S. Virgin Islands.
• Obtain practice privileges from the servicing military medical treatment facility.

• Maintain regular and acceptable attendance.
• Complete all required training.
• Perform other assignments and duties as required.

Desired Education / Experience / Skills / Training

• Experience working in a government setting such as DoD or Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) MTF.
