Special Education Teacher - Whitehall, Pennsylvania

As an Itinerant Special Education Teacher, you'll play a vital role in several specialized programs, providing essential coverage for classroom vacancies, leaves of absence, and longer-term assignments. This contract position follows a school-year calendar and offers a consistent, 35-hour, school-day schedule, though hours may vary depending on assignment.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Pennsylvania Special Education certification (preferred/required for specific assignments)
• Experience in special education classroom teaching
• Proven skills implementing IEPs and individualized instruction
• Ability to manage classrooms and effectively support student behavior
• Collaboration with paraprofessionals, related services, and families
• Willingness to work in multiple classrooms and programs
• Preferred backgrounds: autism support, emotional support, multiple disabilities, behavioral health, or IU/specialized school settings

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support across assigned sites
• Rapidly adapt to different classroom cultures and student needs
• Implement and monitor IEP goals and behavioral intervention plans
• Support communication, sensory regulation, and life-skills development
• Provide coverage for leaves of absence or unfilled vacancies as needed
