Make a vital difference this school year as a Special Education Teacher supporting students across elementary, middle, or high school levels in the Aurora, CO area. Three dynamic full-time roles are available, each designed to foster success for students with diverse learning needs. These assignments run from July 27, 2026, through May 21, 2027, with a consistent weekly commitment of 37.5 hours on-site at a single campus.
Openings include:
- Learning Specialist (Elementary, Westminster): Work with a mild to moderate caseload of students, providing tailored instruction and interventions in a supportive environment.
- Affective Needs (High School & Middle School, Thornton): Lead a small team of paraprofessionals, focusing on students with significant emotional and behavioral challenges. Expertise in behavioral strategies-such as CPI, de-escalation, ABA principles, and autism support-is essential. Experience completing FBAs and creating BIPs is highly preferred.
- Valid Colorado Department of Education Teacher License with Special Education Generalist (5-21) endorsement
- Relevant classroom experience in special education, with preference for candidates skilled in behavioral and emotional support
- Strong background or willingness to specialize in autism support and behavioral analysis
- Commitment to collaborative, team-based approaches with school staff and related service providers
- Ability to complete time-sensitive district credentialing before assignment begins
- Deliver individualized instruction and behavioral intervention plans
- Lead and mentor paraprofessional teams in specialized classrooms
- Participate actively in student support meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Foster inclusive, positive classroom environments for optimal student growth
