What we're looking for:
- Hold appropriate credentials and licensure for Special Education/LBSI
- Experience teaching in a self-contained environment, particularly at the elementary level
- Familiarity with Unique Learning System or STAR curriculum preferred
- Skilled in differentiated instruction, managing IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication abilities to build meaningful connections with students, families, and colleagues
- Genuine passion and patience for working with diverse learners
- Commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging classroom community
- Lead direct instruction for a class of 7-8 students in Grades 4 and 5
- Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in close collaboration with support staff and families
- Create and adapt lessons using Unique or STAR curriculum to meet varied learning needs
- Collaborate regularly with the team of special education teachers in the building
- Track student progress and communicate effectively with parents/guardians
- Attend staff meetings, professional development sessions, and required trainings
- Contribute to a caring, positive, and respectful school culture
This contract position follows a consistent Monday-Friday schedule with dedicated planning time and a supportive environment ideal for new and seasoned educators alike. Assignments begin August 17, 2026, with the opportunity to participate in new teacher orientation if hired promptly.
