Special Education Teacher
The position is for a teacher of special education students primarily in grades K-5. The teacher will be responsible for the development and implementation of appropriate grade level classroom instruction and activities.
Qualifications:
- Education Requirements: Michigan teaching certificate with the appropriate special education certification or working towards the appropriate certification
- Experience, Knowledge & Skills: Knowledge of theory, research methods, and best practices in special education and general education instruction
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and administrators
- Ability to communicate effectively and relate positively with students, parents, and administration
- Knowledge of age appropriate curriculum, application of appropriate assessment, and knowledge of effective use of age appropriate, research based instructional strategies for secondary students
- Planning and organizational skills
- Digital literacy skills
