Soliant is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to serve in an elementary self-contained Autism classroom near Fredericksburg, VA ! The selected candidate will provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and varying levels of cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive functioning needs.

Schedule: Full-time, On-Site School-Based
Setting: Elementary School, Self-Contained Autism Classroom
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction aligned with state standards and individualized student goals.
- Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies designed for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Implement positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs).
- Collaborate with speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, school psychologists, behavior specialists, and related service providers.
- Supervise and direct paraprofessionals assigned to the classroom.
- Collect and analyze student progress data and maintain compliance documentation.
- Foster communication, social interaction, self-regulation, and independent living skills.
- Maintain a safe, structured, and engaging classroom environment.
- Active Virginia Special Education Teaching License or eligibility for licensure.
- Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
- Knowledge of special education compliance and documentation requirements.
- Strong classroom management and behavior support skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and families.
- Previous experience teaching students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
- Experience in self-contained special education classrooms.
- Familiarity with ABA principles, structured teaching, visual schedules, social stories, and functional communication systems.
- Experience supporting students with significant cognitive and behavioral needs.
- Crisis prevention/de-escalation training preferred.
