Special Education Teacher (Early Childhood)

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teachers to support Pre-K students in an Early Childhood Center setting. The Special Education Teacher, under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, provides high-quality educational services to students with special needs and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized learning programs.

This role requires a strong commitment to student success, collaboration with general education staff, and the ability to provide specialized instruction, academic support, and consultation services that foster growth and achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized instruction to students with disabilities in an early childhood classroom setting.

  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

  • Collaborate with parents, administrators, therapists, and general education staff to support student learning and development.

  • Adapt instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet individual student needs.

  • Maintain accurate student records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.

  • Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and ongoing collaboration efforts.

  • Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for all students.

Position Details

  • Position: Special Education Teacher (Early Childhood)

  • Openings: 2

  • Grade Level: Pre-K

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday

  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week

  • Contract Length: 36 weeks

  • Start Date: August 2026

  • Assignment: Full school year with potential opportunities for Extended School Year (ESY) support

  • Interview Process: Virtual interviews

Required Certification

Candidates must possess one of the following:

  • Early Childhood Certification, or

  • Early Childhood Exceptional Children Certification

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university preferred

  • Valid state teaching certificate as required by state and district regulations

  • Minimum of one year of teaching experience preferred

  • State Teacher Certification (Elementary, Secondary, or Special Education) preferred

  • Learning Behavior Specialist (LBS1) endorsement preferred

  • Compliance with all applicable professional standards of practice

  • Current CPR certification, if required

  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if required

  • Current health certificate, if required by state or district regulations

  • Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
