CERTIFICATION:
- School Social Worker Certificate or Registration, required
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with Special Education Endorsement, preferred
- Effectively demonstrates facilitation skills, leadership skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with administrators, teachers, students, and staff
- Experience and/or training in utilizing academic interventions and supporting students who have IEP's
- Extensive experience working with youth, families, and community organizations
- Experience in the development and facilitation of professional development
- Experience working in a multicultural environment supporting anti-bias and anti-racist practices
- Experience supporting restorative practices
- Individual and group sessions to help students cope with personal, social, academic, and family concerns
- Coordinate student culture processes including Restorative Practices, PBIS, and Leader In Me
- Teach classroom SEL lessons and support school wide SEL
- Coordinate IEP and 504 plans
- Work with McKinney Vento families and "at-risk" students
- Support students with chronic discipline issues; monitor and identify attendance issues; meet with parents to help rectify these issues
- Seek outside counseling support for students and families.
- Additional duties as assigned
