Special Education Paraprofessional

The district is seeking Paraprofessionals and Personal Care Assistants for positions for to assist students receiving special education services for the School Year.
Paraprofessional Positions include: Healthcare benefits (including vision and dental), Pennsylvania State Employee Pension and paid time off!
TITLE: Paraprofessional/ Personal Care Aide
Location: District-wide (assignments will be made based upon the needs of the students)
REPORTS TO: Director/Supervisor of Special Education
TERMS: approximately 185 days (student days, plus training days) beginning school year.
QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Minimum of 48 College credits, ParaEd Certification and/or willingness to obtain ParaEd Certification.
2. Experience with Special Education (and positive behavior management) is preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
4. Must have good organizational skills, maintain confidentiality and be flexible.

1. Support Students who receive special education services in special education, generaleducation, one to one situations and/or small groups.
2. Implement and support individualized positive behavior support plans; provide scheduled reinforcement; utilize de-escalation strategies for highly escalated student behavior.
3. Document progress toward the student's goals.
4. Support teachers by completing paperwork and clerical duties as required.
5. Attend District training session
