POSITION: 185 DAYS, FULL-TIME (NON-EXEMPT)
Qualifications:
- Paraprofessional license; two years of college or the equivalent as defined by state and federal guidelines
- Mindset Training preferred
- Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
- Previous experience with special needs students preferred
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
Job Goal: To assist the teacher to achieve teaching objectives by working with one student to help them reach maximum academic achievement and to assist in the development of an organized, effective, efficient learning environment.
Job Duties:
- Work with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher
- Prepare and adapt materials for use in the classroom
- Maintain classroom and learning materials in good order
- Communicate behavioral concerns of student(s) to appropriate staff members
- Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data
- Attend all meetings and in service trainings
- Display prompt and regular attendance
- Other duties as assigned by Administrator
