Qualifications & Desired Background:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional in a school environment
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn about, Mild/Moderate special education needs
- Ability to collaborate with teachers, specialists, and school staff
- Effective communication skills with children, colleagues, and families
- Reliability and commitment to a full school year
- High school diploma or equivalent (some assignments may require additional certifications)
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with academic and behavioral needs
- Assist classroom teachers with instructional activities, accommodations, and supervision
- Implement behavior plans and support individualized education plans (IEPs) as directed
- Help foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment
- Document student progress and communicate regularly with lead teachers and school staff
- Adapt to assignments in elementary or secondary settings, based on your skills and interests
