This role provides direct assistance to students both within general education classrooms and in a resource room setting, ensuring access to instruction, accommodations, and individualized supports.
Primary Responsibilities
• Assist students with academic tasks and classroom participation under the direction of a licensed special education teacher.
• Support implementation of IEP goals, accommodations, and behavior plans.
• Provide small-group and one-to-one support in both inclusion and resource settings.
• Assist with instructional materials, organization, and progress monitoring.
• Foster a positive, respectful, and encouraging environment for all learners.
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, and service providers to support student success.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and procedures.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary coursework or experience in education preferred.
• Experience working with children or adolescents, especially students with disabilities, is strongly preferred.
• Patience, flexibility, and a student-centered mindset.
