Isom Elementary is seeking a Special Education Instructional Assistant to support students in grades K 5. This position works closely with the special education teacher and classroom staff to assist students with academic tasks, learning activities, and positive behavior supports.
Responsibilities include:

• -Providing small group and one-on-one support to students
• -Assisting with instructional activities and classroom routines
• -Supporting the implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) under teacher direction -Reinforcing positive behavior and social skills
• -Preparing instructional materials and assisting with classroom organization
• -Supervising and supporting students during transitions and other school activities

Qualifications:

• -High school diploma or equivalent required
• -Experience working with children preferred
• -Ability to work collaboratively with staff and build positive relationships with students
• -Strong communication skills and a patient, flexible approach

This is a 29-hour per week school-year position.
