Concord Road Elementary School is seeking an innovative and student-centered Special Education Teacher for the school year.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF JOB:
The Special Education Teacher will provide high-quality, engaging instruction to a diverse group of learners, which fosters a safe, supportive integrated co-teaching environment. The teacher will work collaboratively with the general education teacher to design and deliver lessons aligned to the New York State Learning Standards, with a strong emphasis on leveraging the principles of the universal design for learning framework. This role requires a commitment to meeting the needs of all students through differentiated instruction, collaboration with colleagues, and ongoing professional growth.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and maintain a classroom environment that is safe, respectful, inclusive, and conducive to learning.
  • Plan, deliver, and assess standards-based lessons using evidence-based practices and differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students
  • Use data to inform instruction, monitor progress, and adjust teaching strategies to ensure student success.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and progress monitor students goals on the IEPs.
  • Collaborate regularly with grade-level colleagues, support staff, and families to enhance student learning.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to strengthen instructional practices and remain current in evidence based methods.

CERTIFICATION:
  • NYS Students with Disabilities All Grades or SWD B-2 and 1-6
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
  • This is a probationary 10-month position.
EVALUATION:
  • Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on evaluation of certified staff.
