Join us and take your place in space.The Missile Defense Space Architectures department directly supports the Missile Defense Agency's Space Capabilities office. As the primary interface to this component of MDA, we help our customer understand their acquisition and development requirements, coordinate and provide technical expertise through our extensive reachback model, and ensure success across a variety of projects. We are looking for a Space Vehicle Systems Engineer (Project Engineer/Sr. Project Engineer – Enterprise Systems Engineering) to be embedded with our customer, primarily in support of the DSS demonstration program.The selected candidate will be required to work full-time on-site at Schriever SFB in Colorado Springs, CO.What You'll Be DoingSupporting MDA Space Capabilities office (DCS), and specifically the DSS programCollaborating with the government team, including other FFRDC, UARC, and SETA personnel, to ensure mission successEvaluating and assisting contractor and subcontractor performance regarding space vehicle design and developmentSupporting other DSS space segment and general DCS activities as neededWhat You Need to be SuccessfulMinimum Requirements for Project Engineer – Enterprise Systems EngineeringBachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, science, or related technical discipline8 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: mechanical design and analysis, design for manufacturing, optical-mechanical systems, environmental testing, propulsion, mechanisms, guidance and controls, thermal engineering, structuresAbility to conduct detailed technical analyses and apply knowledge independently with minimal guidanceDemonstration of progressively increasing responsibilities in work assignments / projectsWillingness to travel occasionally to work location or customer site (domestically) approx.
