This individual will support capital and consumables purchases for the Starlink program.Responsibilities:Work directly with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement sourcing and cost management strategies that support capital purchases and production consumablesUnderstand the technical aspects of production equipment to identify opportunities for cost, space, and process optimization and use data analytics to identify and parse process related opportunitiesUtilize negotiations to maximize value, cost savings and priority in terms of delivery for SpaceX while lowering riskBuild and own overall project budgets, compile funding requests, and generate capitalization plan based on project timeline focusing on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of the categories managedConduct research, perform benchmarking, and gather market analysis for assigned categoriesCommunicate overall equipment status to the management team including schedules, risks and mitigation actions and respond quickly to changes to the overall goals, schedule, and architectureTrack and report projected and actual spend, assess budgetary risk, and provide clear budgetary analysis to enable timely management team decision makingCreate sourcing strategies to reduce risk, enable continuous cost reduction and align with company strategy on payment terms, cash targets, on time delivery and cost savingsBuild genuine relationships both internally and externally and drive cross-functional teams to achieve consensusSource and onboard new suppliers to serve dynamic program with rapidly evolving business needsWork with supply base to ensure support from vendors regarding setup, installation, repairs and maintenanceExecute purchase orders and manage escalation process for "purchase to pay" issuesBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience working in one or more of the following; OR 9+ years of experience working in one or more of the following in lieu of a degree:EngineeringPurchasingContract negotiationMaterial or production planningOperations or supply chain managementMaterial cost controlMaster production schedulingPreferred Skills and Experience:3+ years experience with capital expenditure purchasingExperience with purchasing for more than one categoryExtensive project management and organizational skillsExperience managing large scale capital projectsRemarkable problem solving skills with a bias for speedQuick learner and ability to prioritize appropriately to meet customer and company needsExcellent customer service skillsEffective written, verbal, and presentation communication skillsExceptional analytical and organizational skillsStrong technical knowledge of MS Office SuiteAbility to conduct all activities with the highest degree of integrityDetail-oriented, self-motivated and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environmentAdditional Requirements:Ability to travel and communicate outside of work hours - up to 50% work week travel may be required, including international travelWillingness to work long hours and weekend when needed to meet critical deadlinesThis position is based in Bastrop, TX and requires being onsiteITAR Requirements:To conform to U.S.
