* Experience: Successful completion of two semesters in CAAHEP or ARRT-recognized Sonography Program, required.
* Additional Skills Required: Ability to successfully complete generic and department -specific skills validation. Good communication skills. Working knowledge of various types of ultrasound equipment. Able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served . Basic understanding of basic US exams. Basic computer skills.
What You'll Do:
* Receives, relays, and documents verbal, written, and electronic orders.
* Prepares patient for procedure and assumes responsibility for patient needs during procedures.
* Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology.
* Has knowledge and skills necessary to modify care according to patient's age, condition, and abilities.
* Follows protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety.
* Identifies, prepares, and administers medications, including contrast media, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
* Evaluates images for technical quality and ensures proper recording of patient identification and anatomical laterality.
* Ensures accurate and complete examination is performed.
* Ensures timely review and transfer of images and pertinent clinical information to a licensed practitioner.
* Properly operates electronic medical record (EMR), radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS)
