nPosition Purpose:
nPerforms ultrasonography procedures including vascular and general sonography for patients as ordered by the physician and provides diagnostic exams and communications for radiologist's interpretation. Adheres to MercyOne performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.
nWhat you will Do:
nPrepares patient, room and equipment for procedure.
nCollects history data from patient and provides patient education.
nProvides patient cares in accordance with department policy.
nPerforms ultrasound procedure.
nProvides radiologist pertinent information for interpretation.
nPerforms sonograms and documents and communicates findings to radiologist.
nPerforms doppler/color flow diagnostic studies and is able to accurately measure velocities and frequency shifts.
nAdheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures.
nBased on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age-related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit, which may include:
nBirth-28 days: Neonate

n18 Mo-3 Yrs: Toddler
n3-6 Yrs: Pre-School Aged
n6-12 Yrs: School-Aged
n12-18 Yrs: Adolescents

nMinimum Qualifications:
nMust be registered with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) with one of the following.
nRegistered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS)
nRegistered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS)
nRegistered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
nRegistered Musculoskeletal Sonographer (RMSKS)
nIf not registered, be board-eligible and become registered with ARDMS within one year of hire.
nMaintains active registry status with ARDMS (30 CME's every 3 yrs/annual payment)
nChild and Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training is required within six (6) months of hire and every three (3) years thereafter.
nBasic Life Support (BLS) required within 30 days of hire and every two (2) years thereafter.
