Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will operate specialized ultrasound equipment that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce high-quality diagnostic images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow. You will combine exceptional technical expertise with empathetic patient care, guiding patients through the imaging process and collaborating closely with physicians to deliver accurate medical data for health assessments and treatment plans.Core Duties and ResponsibilitiesPatient Care & Preparation: Review patient medical histories and referrals to determine the appropriate imaging techniques. Warmly prepare patients by explaining the ultrasound procedure, addressing their questions, and positioning them comfortably to obtain optimal scans.Imaging Operations: Operate sophisticated ultrasound transducers and imaging machinery, adjusting technical settings (such as depth and gain) to capture clear, accurate anatomical images.Diagnostic Analysis: Evaluate real-time scans to recognize the difference between normal and abnormal anatomy. Identify potential pathologies or abnormalities and accurately capture the necessary cross-sections for physician review.Documentation & Reporting: Write comprehensive preliminary technical summaries of sonographic findings, detailing the size, location, and appearance of observed structures using correct medical terminology. Maintain precise and confidential patient digital medical records.Clinical Collaboration: Work alongside radiologists, physicians, and nurses to discuss findings. Assist physicians during interventional, ultrasound-guided procedures such as biopsies, fluid aspirations, or line insertions.Equipment Use & Maintenance: Perform routine safety and quality control checks on equipment. Ensure exam rooms are clean, sanitized, and fully stocked with required supplies (e.g., transmission gel, linens) before and after each patient.Skills and QualificationsEducation: Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related healthcare field from an accredited institution.Certification: Active credentialing as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent licensing body.Basic Life Support: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Clinical Knowledge: Strong, intuitive understanding of human cross-sectional anatomy, physiology, medical ethics, and safety protocols.Soft Skills: Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills to soothe anxious or nervous patients. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently under precise protocols.Physical Demands: Good physical stamina and hand-eye coordination.

The role requires standing or walking for long periods, pushing heavy imaging machinery, and assisting with patient transfers.
