We are seeking a highly skilled Data Architect / Solution Architect hybrid to lead the design, integration, and transformation of our finance data ecosystem. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep hands‑on data expertise , strong solution architecture capability , and a solid understanding of financial systems and accounting data .

You will serve as both:

  • a backup and eventual successor to our Finance Data Architect
  • a complement to our Solution Architecture lead, contributing cross‑domain architectural depth

This is a hands‑on technical role with significant influence across ERP replacement, data fabric modernization, and financial reporting transformation.

What You’ll Do

Finance Data Architecture (Primary Focus)

  • Support and eventually backfill the Finance Data Architect for:
  • Semantic models for finance reporting
  • Future Enterprise Data Warehouse
  • Design and refine backend finance data models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and scalability
  • Understand and model financial structures including general ledger, chart of accounts, insurance & reinsurance data, and accounting flows
  • Ensure finance data is usable for reporting, forecasting, and regulatory purposes
  • Lead integration design across SAP, Workday, data fabric, and downstream applications
  • Define and optimize end-to-end data pipelines and transformation flows
  • Understand how financial data aggregates through the data pipeline - and how this differs across policy, reinsurance, actuarial, and finance processes
  • Contribute to re‑architecting legacy applications as part of broader modernization efforts
  • Recommend integration patterns (APIs, events, fabric links, batch pipelines), explaining technical trade‑offs
  • Produce high-quality architecture deliverables including solution diagrams, data flow maps, and integration blueprints
  • Partner with engineering, cloud, and data teams to drive design decisions
  • Support cloud migration initiatives through data flow mapping and integration guidance
  • Communicate architecture options clearly, presenting pros/cons to technical and business audiences
  • Participate in business architecture discussions where process and data intersect

This role is not purely conceptual – you will perform real technical work, including:

  • Building and validating data models (logical & physical)
  • Developing or supporting data pipelines and data migration workflows
  • Creating BI‑ready structures and supporting reporting teams
  • Drafting migration path documentation, field mappings, and sequencing plans
  • Troubleshooting integration and data quality issues alongside engineering teams

What You Bring

Core Data Architecture Expertise

  • Strong understanding of semantic modelling, medallion architecture, and modern data warehousing
  • Experience with ERP‑to‑warehouse integration and finance system data flows
  • Ability to design sustainable, scalable finance data ecosystems
  • Hands‑on experience with SAP (finance modules strongly preferred)
  • Knowledge of Workday integrations
  • Experience with general ledger migration projects
  • Understanding of insurance and reinsurance accounting principles

Integration & Data Fabric Skills

  • Direct experience with data fabric concepts , data virtualization, and enterprise data integration
  • Comfortable designing end‑to‑end integration architecture
  • Ability to explain how data moves, transforms, aggregates, and is governed

Hands‑On Technical Skills

  • Experience building or maintaining data pipelines (cloud or on‑prem)
  • Ability to create data flow diagrams and migration plans
  • Familiarity with BI tools and reporting structures
  • Strong documentation and architectural communication skills

Collaboration & Business Partnership

  • Comfortable working with system owners, business SMEs, and finance leadership
  • Able to translate business requirements into technical design
