Solutions Architect

Derflan is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to support a high-impact consulting engagement within a global technology organization focused on cloud architecture, strategic partnerships, technical enablement, and enterprise cloud adoption.

This is a hybrid role based in Santa Clara, CA . Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to the Santa Clara / San Francisco Bay Area.

Candidates must have strong AWS cloud architecture experience and enterprise customer-facing Solutions Architecture experience.

This is not a traditional Solutions Architect role . The position is approximately 60% focused on internal technical enablement, partner strategy, and go-to-market collaboration and 40% focused on customer-facing solution architecture .

The ideal candidate brings a strong AWS cloud foundation, enterprise architecture experience, technical curiosity, and the ability to collaborate across highly matrixed organizations. This individual will work closely with Solutions Architects, Partner teams, Go-to-Market organizations,

Account Teams, Sales, Engineering, and enterprise customers to accelerate cloud adoption, strengthen technical strategy, enable internal teams, and drive successful customer outcomes.

Role Description: Cloud Solutions Architect – Strategic Partnerships

Duration: 12+ Month Consulting Engagement

Travel: Approximately 20% (typically once per month)

Annual Base Salary: $205,000–$270,000 + Full Benefits

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Partner teams, Go-to-Market organizations, Account Teams, Sales, Engineering, and other technical stakeholders to accelerate enterprise cloud adoption.
• Partner with enterprise customers and account teams to design scalable, secure, resilient, and high-performing AWS cloud architectures.
• Lead technical discovery sessions, architecture discussions, solution design engagements, and proof-of-concept activities.
• Develop technical enablement materials, best practices, architecture guidance, presentations, workshops, customer success stories, and technical documentation.
• Enable internal field teams by communicating cloud solutions, technical differentiators, architecture best practices, and customer value propositions.
• Support technical go-to-market initiatives and help shape cloud adoption strategies across partner, technical, and customer organizations.
• Support enterprise modernization, AI, machine learning, cloud optimization, and emerging technology initiatives.
• Evaluate enterprise workloads and recommend cloud architectures that improve scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Support benchmarking, workload optimization, proof-of-performance activities, and technical validation initiatives.
• Collaborate with engineering and technical teams to evaluate customer workloads and identify opportunities for cloud optimization.
• Translate complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Build strong relationships across highly matrixed organizations while driving alignment and execution.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and the continued development of cloud architecture methodologies and technical best practices.

Basic Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture, Solutions Architecture, Technical Consulting, or a related technical discipline.
• Customer-facing technical consulting, architecture, or pre-sales experience.
• Experience collaborating across technical, engineering, sales, partner, account, and go-to-market organizations.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture, modernization, and cloud adoption.
• Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable cloud architecture recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong presentation and executive stakeholder management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership with minimal direction.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly matrixed environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting AI, machine learning, or modern cloud workloads.
• Experience working within the AWS Partner ecosystem.
• Partner-facing Solutions Architecture or technical enablement experience.
• Technical go-to-market or technical business development experience.
• Experience creating technical enablement materials, workshops, presentations, architecture guidance, or technical best practices.
• Experience supporting enterprise cloud migrations or modernization initiatives.
• Experience with AWS CloudFormation or Infrastructure as Code.
• Experience with workload optimization, benchmarking, performance engineering, or technical validation.
• Experience working with semiconductor or infrastructure technologies is valuable but not required.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline.
• Highly visible role supporting strategic cloud initiatives across multiple technical and business organizations.
• Approximately 60% of the role is focused on internal technical enablement, partner strategy, and go-to-market collaboration, with approximately 40% focused on enterprise customer-facing solution architecture.
