OPPORTUNITY AT A GLANCE
In this position, you will be a product expert. REDCOM Solutions Architects are responsible for ensuring an understanding of our product, its capabilities, and our roadmap for implementation and applications. This role allows you to work with emerging technology, military program knowledge, SIP, IP networking, network security, and more. You will deliver presentations, communicate effectively, and travel to customers for on‑site presentations and demonstrations. The best candidate will have keen attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and strong technical communication skills.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Acquire and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the current REDCOM product set.
- This includes maintaining an understanding of capabilities and solutions provided by existing products.
- Learn technologies relevant to REDCOM products and solutions (e.g., SIP, IP networking, network security, etc.) and earn industry certifications where appropriate.
- Stay current with the development roadmap to include new features/capabilities that are currently in development.
- Stay up to date on emerging technologies.
- Conduct interoperability testing of non‑REDCOM products, technologies, and solutions.
- Design, install, configure, and maintain portable product/capability demonstration kits.
- Design, install, configure, and maintain product/capability network in the Center of Excellence.
- Provide remote, over the phone, or in‑person technical support.
- Answer routine technical questions both remotely and on‑site.
- Conduct research as necessary to answer non‑routine questions both remotely and on‑site.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve technical issues both remotely and on‑site.
- Prepare and deliver instructor‑led technical training virtually, on‑site, or at customer sites.
- Externally to include new and current customers.
- Internally for new and current employees.
- Develop and maintain product and capability training curriculum.
- Act as the primary technical lead for Business Development (BD), Sales, and Program Management (PM) opportunities.
- Lead technical conversations to determine customer requirements.
- Design a solution to meet requirements utilizing our product set.
- Assist the BD Team with closing opportunities and growing REDCOM revenue.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Knowledge
- AAS or BS in a related technical discipline and 3‑6 years of relevant experience, OR similar level advanced knowledge through industry certification or military program of study and 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Required Skills
- Working knowledge of IP networking.
- Working knowledge of the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
- Basic knowledge of the Extensible Messaging and Presence Protocol (XMPP).
- Working knowledge of Wireshark.
- Basic knowledge of Session Border Controllers (SBC).
- Working knowledge of radio (RF) networks.
- Basic knowledge of virtualization/hypervisors.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
OTHER DUTIES
Assist the BD, Sales, and PM teams in finding and responding to opportunities.
SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS
- Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally as needed.
- Must be eligible to obtain secret‑level clearance as needed.
- Must be prepared to travel 25‑30% annually.
- May require extended work hours to meet project or customer requirements.
- Must be available to answer customer calls 24/7 on a 7‑day rotational basis.
- Willingness to be available to assist the on‑call person 24/7/365 except during approved time off.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work at a computer workstation for extended periods of time.
- Will be required to support trade shows which will involve some manual labor for booth/equipment setup and tear down; the ability to carry up to 50 pounds is required.
- Will be required to support demonstrations and site surveys at customer locations. Customer locations will vary (indoors and outdoors, building conditions, etc.). The activities may require the ability to repeatedly kneel, crouch, reach, push, pull, lift, etc.

Positions reporting directly to this position: None.
The wage range for this role considers the range of qualifications that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; education and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position.
Associate Solutions Architect: Hiring Range $63,500 – $70,000
Solutions Architect: Hiring Range $73,000 – $81,500
