Overview
BGE is seeking a Solution Architect I to help clients solve complex business challenges through data, technology, and process improvement.
This role sits at the intersection of business consulting, solution architecture, data strategy, and digital transformation. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with clients to understand operational challenges, define technology strategies, design scalable solutions, and guide implementation efforts.
As a member of the Technology Solutions team, you will work with public and private sector organizations to improve how information is managed, integrated, analyzed, and delivered across their operations. This role includes a strong focus on enterprise data, system integration, GIS, business intelligence, asset management, and cloud-based solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Engagement & Solution Strategy
Lead workshops, discovery sessions, and stakeholder interviews to understand business objectives, operational challenges, and technology needs.
Translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions and implementation strategies.
Develop technology roadmaps and digital transformation strategies aligned with client goals and organizational priorities.
Present recommendations, technical concepts, and solution approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Solution Architecture & Design
Own the overall solution architecture and design approach, ensuring business requirements, technical implementation, and long-term scalability remain aligned.
Design Common Data Environments (CDEs), enterprise information architectures, and data management frameworks that improve accessibility, governance, and decision-making.
Design integrated solutions spanning GIS, asset management systems, ERP platforms, CRM platforms, cloud environments, field applications, business intelligence tools, and other enterprise systems.
Develop data models, integration strategies, and governance frameworks that support organizational growth and long-term maintainability.
Establish technical standards and design patterns that promote scalable, secure, and supportable solutions.
- Technical Leadership & Delivery
Provide technical leadership and guidance to analysts, developers, and project teams during solution implementation.
Lead technical collaboration across multidisciplinary teams, including technology, engineering, GIS, and business stakeholders.
Guide implementation efforts involving data migrations, system integrations, automation workflows, reporting platforms, and enterprise applications.
Collaborate with technical teams to develop APIs, data pipelines, dashboards, automation solutions, and enterprise applications.
Support quality assurance activities to ensure solutions align with business requirements and architectural standards.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate business processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation, integration, and workflow redesign.
Research emerging technologies, cloud services, artificial intelligence, and industry trends to drive innovation and deliver business value.
Identify opportunities to improve organizational data maturity, governance, reporting capabilities, and operational effectiveness.
