We believe that a variety of backgrounds makes our team stronger and more innovative.At Air Liquide, we RESPECT, HONOR and VALUE diversity.Air Liquide is Hiring for a Solution Development Manager in Houston, TX!The Solution Development Manager - Lurgi Technologies is responsible to understand the needs of customers and with the resources of E&C, develop the most competitive, comprehensive and optimized gas solution using the Lurgi portfolio (SMR, ATR, POX, etc...).

Once solution selection is completed, the Solution Development Manager will continue to support and possibly lead the proposal preparation effort providing the technical deliverables (technical specification, scope of work definition, etc) as part of project developmentResponsibilities:Meet or exceed the company's safety standards, and comply with E&C Global and Local engineering standardsBe the regional focal point for Air Liquide Over-The-Fence (Large Industries) project developments for Lurgi technologiesSupport the E&C Third Party Sales team and the Air Liquide businesses (Large Industries, etc...) in technical exchanges with the customers (presentation, conferences participation, etc...)Manage the development of the solution – as necessary, initiate site visits, stakeholder brainstorming and scenario development meetings, etc.With the different teams, lead the Solution Development effort by developing key technical deliverables (solution tables, scope of work definition, technical specifications,...) and associated estimations to compare different options and select the best optimized solution for the customer (jointly with all stakeholders)Work with the Product Line(s), Technical and Proposal team to develop / finalize the design basis and the technical proposal, including technical specification and associated deliverablesDrive the Basis of Design with the Client, define optimized process integration with different blocksWork with Air Liquide's Intellectual Property team to ensure the freedom to propose the technical solutionSupport all necessary review meetings & associated documentation (A meeting, B meeting, Risk Boards, ERC, etc.)Participate in estimate reviews, including benchmarking activities undertaken to ensure commercial competitivenessBeing responsible for the competitiveness of the solutionEnsure that the customer's input is reflected in the proposed solutionInteract with key suppliers and Procurement, as necessary, to develop project scope and price information for the proposed technical solutionParticipate and/or Lead technical clarifications meetings/ follow-up meetings with the customerProactively seek market information and participate to win/loss data analysis to ensure continuous improvementParticipate when needed in contract negotiations with customersEvaluate with the Solution Development Director, the Product Line and the E&C Americas VP Technology the level of FOIK (First of Its Kind) of each solution and participate in the preparation of the FOIK note if neededManage one direct report (if applicable)Are you a MATCH?Required Qualifications:Bachelor or Master in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry or equivalent in Engineering fieldExperience in the process design (HyCO plants or similar)General knowledge of project development and executionGeneral knowledge of industrial gas plants and marketGood analytical and problem solving skillsExcellent written and verbal communication and coordination skillsAbility to interact effectively with other entities / disciplines / departmentsAbility to travel both domestic & international for internal/ external meetings (10% time maximum)Preferred Qualifications:Preferably experience with Aspen Plus simulation softwareStrong organizational and people management skillsAbility to interact effectively with customersAbility to organize and prioritize multiple tasksNotions of German or French language is an assetAbility to work with multicultural teamsOur Differences make our PerformanceAt Air Liquide, we are committed to build a diverse and inclusive workplace that embraces the diversity of our employees, our customers, patients, community stakeholders and cultures across the world.We welcome and consider applications from all qualified applicants, regardless of their background.
