Onsite Part Time IT & Technology

Job Overview

We are looking for a part time Solumina Subject Matter Expert (SME) specializing in transitioning from G-Series (G7/G8) to iSeries (cloud-native). The role involves upgrading, configuring, and optimizing iBase-t’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES), moving from legacy, highly customized environments to a standardized SaaS-based platform, and requiring expertise in manufacturing processes, data migration, and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Upgrade & Migration: Lead the functional migration from Solumina G-Series to iSeries, reducing custom code in favor of standard, configurable features.
  • System Configuration: Configure and deploy iSeries workflows for manufacturing, quality (EQMS), and MRO, utilizing pre-configured functionality.
  • Process Optimization: Analyze existing G-Series workflows, perform gap analysis, and redesign processes for the modernized iSeries interface.
  • Integration Management: Architect and support integrations between Solumina iSeries and ERP/PLM systems.
  • User Adoption: Train users on the new iSeries interface and provide technical support to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Data Validation: Ensure data integrity during the migration from legacy databases.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with iBase-t Solumina MES (specifically G-series and iSeries).
  • Database Knowledge: Proficiency in SQL and database management.
  • Industry Experience: Deep understanding of Aerospace & Defense manufacturing.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of web technologies, REST APIs, and cloud architecture (as iSeries is cloud-native).
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to translate complex manufacturing processes into system requirements.

Key Differences to Manage (G-Series to iSeries)

  • Customization vs. Configuration: Moving away from heavy customizations (G-series) toward out-of-the-box configuration (iSeries).
  • Interface Overhaul: Transitioning from older UI to modern web-based, user-friendly interfaces (e.g., i120 Shop Floor Trainer).
  • Cloud Architecture: Adopting a SaaS, cloud-native deployment model.

This role is critical for manufacturing companies looking to improve agility, reduce maintenance costs, and utilize AI-enabled tools (like Solumina Digital SME).

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years’ experience.
