SolarWinds Administrator

The Defense Sector at Leidos is seeking a highly skilled and innovative SolarWinds Administrator to join our team in the Hampton Roads Area.  The SolarWinds Administrator is responsible for the end-to-end Network management, optimization, and support of the SolarWinds platform within the organization. This includes installation, upgrades, troubleshooting performance issues, advanced SQL reporting, and dashboard creation. The SolarWinds Administrator will work closely with stakeholders to ensure the monitoring environment delivers actionable insights and meets operational requirements.The position requires performing job duties onsite at Langley Air Force Base. Roles and Responsibilities:Design, deploy, configure, and administer SolarWinds monitoring tools to effectively monitor the organization's IT infrastructureCustomize SolarWinds dashboards, alerts, and reports to meet specific monitoring requirementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams to define monitoring requirements for network devices, servers, applications, and other IT componentsImplement and manage SolarWinds monitoring solutions to ensure proactive identification and resolution of potential issuesAnalyze SolarWinds data to identify performance bottlenecks and areas for improvementWork closely with IT teams to implement optimizations and enhance overall system performanceRespond to alerts promptly, investigate incidents, and collaborate with relevant teams to resolve issues efficientlyDevelop and maintain incident response procedures for SolarWinds-related incidentsCreate and maintain comprehensive documentation for SolarWinds configurations, processes, and best practices.Develop and optimize dashboards to provide real-time visibility into network and application healthConfigure and maintain monitoring templates, alerts, and reporting mechanismsReview and update STIG requirements and checklists and remediate/document findings as neededProvide training in SolarWinds products and broader monitoring principlesProvide SQL database configuration, support, and consultationOccasional after-hours on call may be requiredTravel may be required to CONUS and OCONUS locationsBasic Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.Must have an active and current DoD TS/SCI clearance.Certification: DoD 8570/8140-compliant certification at IAT Level II - CompTIA Security+ CE required at minimum.SolarWinds Fundamentals: 4+ years of experience in SolarWinds administration, including hands-on expertise with various modulesExperience: Strong understanding of network protocols, infrastructure, and system architecture.

Exceptional knowledge of Netflow, SNMP, Packet Analysis, and network protocols.Scripting Skills: Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python)Soft Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting mindset, clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.Preferred Qualifications:Demonstrated strong abilities in implementing and configuring monitoring solutions based on SolarWinds Orion products (Network Performance Monitor, Server & Application Monitor, Netflow Traffic Analyzer, Network Configuration Manager, Database Performance Analyzer, and others) in a distributed and highly available environment.5+ years of experience with hands-on server and network administration for medium to large organizationsExperience designing, creating, and supporting monitoring dashboards to provide reporting and status information to various levels of usersExperience with integrating SolarWinds with other tools/platformsStrong understanding and demonstrated ability in SQL administration and SQL query languageSolid understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Windows Server OS administration, roles, and troubleshootingExperience in high availability system configuration, troubleshooting, and performance optimizationExperience with industry-standard monitoring technologies (SNMP, Syslog, WMI, API, scripts, agent-based, remote polling), with the proven capability to implement and support complex environmentsStrong written and verbal communication skills with experience providing technical training to application administrators and end-usersExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certification.Familiarity with cloud environments and hybrid IT infrastructure.Experience with solutions such as Security Onion, Splunk, Elastic, Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, etc.Knowledge of complementary platforms like ServiceNow, JIRA, Confluence, Gitlab & other DevOps Tools.DABAOPP1If you're looking for comfort, keep scrolling.
