Remote Full Time Engineering

Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Solar Lead Engineer candidates to support the design of utility scale solar projects nationwide. This role will be a strategic contributor to the growth of our Renewables Lifeline Sector®.Qualified candidates will be considered to work remote from any location in the US, or if candidate chooses may work from any of Ulteig’s existing office locations.

What You\'ll Do

  • Lead project design teams of 2-6 people including a design engineer, CAD technician, and system studies engineers taking high-level designs into optimized designs ready for construction. Designs will include solar PV design/construction packages including solar array layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, collection system studies, and equipment installation details for Utility Scale Solar PV systems (50-500MW+)
  • Interact directly with clients for successful project execution.
  • Review and quality control designs to ensure they adhere to internal standards, industry best practice, and client requirements.
  • Act as the signing engineer for PV electrical designs.
  • Contribute to continual development of internal solar engineering standards, toolsets and work processes.
  • Lead site visits and conferences to meet client requests and strengthen relationships.
  • Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs.

What We Expect from You

  • Bachelor\'s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
  • Electrical PE license required or ability to obtain licensure within 6 months.
  • 7+ years of experience in the solar industry or power generation.
  • Experience with various solar design software programs (CYMCAP, PVFARM, SAM, PVsyst etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to clearly and effectively present complex information to all levels.
  • Ability to manage projects, tasks, and clients to satisfy internal and external needs.
  • Experience with estimating or designing electrical systems is mandatory. Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, and construction practices is strongly preferred.
  • Must have the ability to work permanently in the US.

Additional Opportunity Details:

Target Base Compensation Range for this role is $126,400 - $164,300

  • Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
