Job Title: Solar Laborer – Land Maintenance
Job Description
This role supports the safe and efficient operation of solar facilities by performing land and vegetation maintenance around solar arrays. You operate outdoor equipment, follow strict safety guidelines, and work comfortably in all weather conditions while maintaining clean, accessible, and hazard-free grounds.
Responsibilities

Operate riding mowers and weed wackers to maintain vegetation around solar arrays and associated infrastructure.

Perform routine land maintenance to keep grounds clear, tidy, and compliant with site standards.

Work in close proximity to solar arrays, maintaining awareness of equipment and site layouts to avoid damage and ensure safe operations.

Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and site rules at all times while performing tasks.

Use first aid, CPR, and AED training if needed to respond appropriately to on-site incidents or emergencies.

Inspect work areas for hazards, report unsafe conditions, and help maintain a safe job site.

Work outdoors in varying weather conditions and remain on your feet, standing or moving, for the entire shift.

Handle tools and equipment properly, perform basic checks, and report any issues or malfunctions.

Collaborate with team members and site personnel to complete daily maintenance tasks efficiently and on schedule.
Essential Skills

Experience operating riding mowers for land and vegetation maintenance.

Experience using weed wackers for trimming and vegetation control.

Familiarity with working around solar arrays and related solar infrastructure.

Ability to adhere strictly to safety guidelines and site procedures.

Comfort working outdoors in the elements for the entire shift.

Ability to stand, walk, and move continuously throughout the workday.

Current First Aid certification.

Current CPR certification.

Current AED (Automated External Defibrillator) certification.

Experience or experience in solar or construction environments.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Previous experience in land maintenance, landscaping, or vegetation management.

Experience working in outdoor construction or solar sites.

Strong awareness of safety practices in field-based work.

Ability to follow instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment
This position is entirely outdoors, working in the elements throughout the shift, including sun, wind, rain, and varying temperatures. You spend most of the day standing, walking, and moving across the site while operating riding mowers and weed wackers. Appropriate outdoor work attire and footwear suitable for field conditions are expected.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
