Software Systems EngineerLocation: Auburndale, MA (275 Grove St, Ste 1110, Auburndale, MA ) Contract Length: 2-Year Contract Work Schedule: 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day RemotePosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Systems Engineer to join a global technology leader in robotic-assisted vascular interventions. In this role, you will play a critical part in the integration and validation of software systems for advanced robotic platforms. You'll be responsible for software installation, configuration, network management, and design transfer to manufacturing in a cutting-edge medical device environment.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and integrate software across a variety of systems and platforms.Support design transfer activities for manufacturing, including developing SBOMs and test tools.Manage and configure IP networks, firewall rules, and overall network security for software systems.Perform software rework, troubleshooting, and maintenance post-patches and updates.Execute system-level validation testing to confirm performance and functional compliance.Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware engineers, system integrators, and QA.Maintain accurate documentation of system installations, configuration changes, and integration issues.Work within both Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows environments.Contribute to continuous integration and deployment through scripting and automation tools.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).5–7 years of experience in system software integration, preferably within a medical device or regulated industry.Proficiency in software installation, system configuration, and post-release system maintenance.Strong understanding of network protocols and system networking configuration.Hands-on experience with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows OS environments.Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps).Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure and virtualization technologies.Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve system-level issues involving both hardware and software.Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience working in cross-disciplinary teams.Preferred QualificationsExperience with automation tools for system configuration and software deployment.Exposure to mechanical and electrical hardware integration.Background in medical device development or a highly regulated industry.Knowledge of requirements management tools and processes.
