Focused on securing open-source software and upstream dependencies, the full-time remote Software Security Engineer II will assess risks, implement security controls, and collaborate on initiatives to enhance CrowdStrike's software supply chain against advanced threats. Key responsibilities Assess risk and provide security guidance on open-source software usage and repository configurations Implement and maintain security controls for public and private GitHub organizations Investigate open-source dependencies and third-party packages to mitigate supply chain risks Required qualifications Experience in an engineering role implementing and monitoring software security systems Strong working experience with GitHub, including repository administration and access management Familiarity with artifact storage tools like Artifactory and S3 Experience identifying and mitigating open-source risks and securing Linux/Unix configurations Proficiency in a scripting language such as Python, Golang, Shell, or JavaScript
