Software Engineer ManagerWells Fargo is seeking a Software Engineer Manager in Technology as part of Wealth Management Information Technology Platform Services who will provide services in a production support environment. Team's primary focus is production support and incoming work queue for mainframe applications with emphasis on preventive action, automation, metrics and resilience. Requirement to be part of an on call rotation that supports 24/7 for US market hours.
Leadership role to mentor less experienced software engineers.In this role, you will:Manage, coach, and develop a team of individual contributor engineer roles with low to moderate complexity and less experienced managers who are responsible for building high quality capabilities with modern technologyEnsure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each releaseEngage with architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture to enable application migration paths to target architecture; for example, cloud readiness, application modernization and data strategyFunction as the technical representative for the product during cross-team collaborative efforts and planningIdentify and recommend opportunities for driving resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standardsAct as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to make decisions and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement cultureBuild engineering skills side-by-side in the codebase, conduct peer reviews to evaluate quality and solution alignment to technical direction, and guide design, as neededInterpret, develop, and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with low to moderate complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise riskCollaborate and consult with the Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practicesInteract directly with third party vendors and technology service providersManage allocation of people and financial resources for technology engineering including career development and performance management for engineers and managers on the teamHire, mentor and guide talent development of direct reports to build the skills required to effectively design and deliver innovative solutions for the supported product areas/productsRequired Qualifications:4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education2+ years of Leadership experience2+ years of Mainframe experience2+ years of application production support experienceDesired Qualifications:2+ years of Cobol experience2+ years experience with JCL,CICS, CA-7 and/or Zeke and/or SCHEDULE, VSAM, DB2, SYNCSORT, ICETOOL, NDM/SFTP,FileAid, IBM Utilities (IEBGENER, ISPF, etc.)2+ years of vendor management experience2+ years of financial industry experience1+ year of JIRA experience1+ year of Agile experienceExcellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skillsExperience with Endevor and/or Changeman and/or Panvalet, Mainframe SAS, FOCUS, Easytrieve, Remedy or Service Now.Knowledge and understanding of Platform production support.Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle)Job Expectations:Must be able to report into the office in a hybrid work environment.Flexibility to work in a 24/7 environment.Ability to work on-call support as assignedPosting Locations:2710 Pine St E Bldg. - SAINT LOUIS, MO S Brevard St. - CHARLOTTE, North Carolina W W T Harris Blvd.
