Software Engineering AssociateThe New York Mets are seeking a Software Engineering Associate to join the Baseball Systems team. This associate will design, build, test, and deploy mobile and web applications that enrich the Mets data ecosystem and inform decision-making within Baseball Operations. The ideal candidate would be an engineering generalist with prior experience, who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in or knowledge of baseball is a plus but is not required.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Develop user-facing featuresCollaborate with a variety of internal stakeholders to validate designs and facilitate clean rollouts and deployments of new productsDrive code quality through adherence to software engineering best practicesAssist in the development of greenfield mobile applicationsJob will include mentorship, hands-on production coding, building and fixing tools for baseball stakeholdersRequired Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field1+ years of relevant work experienceSome experience working with JavaScript/TypeScript (including React, React Native, and/or Node.js)Familiarity with modern agile practices and development toolsAbility to work collaboratively with othersStrong written and verbal communication skillsDesired Qualifications:Cloud experience (AWS, GCP, etc)SQL experienceiOS mobile development experience (React Native or Swift)Prior experience in baseball is a plus
