Software EngineerSalary range for position: $155,000 - $185,000, commensurate with experience.Position Summary:Software engineer designing and building integrated desktop applications to control automated robotic semiconductor manufacturing systems using VB.NET, C#, SQL Server, MESs, Atlassian Jira/Confluence, etc. Participates in cross-functional linked teams with vendors to design, architect and implement factory automation solutions for a 24/7 fab clean room facility.Knowledge: Having ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.Job Complexity: Works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors. Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Internal and external contacts often pertain to company plans and objectives.Supervision: Determines methods and procedures on new assignments and may coordinate activities of other personnel (Team Lead). Be able to work self-directed.Experience: Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years and a Master's degree' or PhD with 3 years' experience; or equivalent work experience.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Develop Factory System solutions for automation primarily using Microsoft.NETWork with internal IT team for setup and maintenance of systems to enable automationContribute to the testing and implementation of test system applicationsHelp to identify and implement solutions and upgrades to existing solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency, equipment maintainability and quality controlInteract with engineers and manufacturing personnel for application requirementsProvide maintenance support such as troubleshooting and problem analysis with internal customersDevelop training for automation solutions developedDocument, test and verify changes related to Factory Systems in an ISO 9001:2015 environmentPerform acceptance testing of new software and assure smooth rolloutAssure reliable 24/7 operation of integrated factory systems (including occasional off-hours on call support)Cross-train with other team members in applications related to automationQualifications:Bachelor's degree in related field and minimum 5 years of related professional experience; or Master's Degree and a minimum of 3 years related experience (designing, coding, and monitoring automation software, including PLCs)Software skills: Primary: VB .NET, C#, SQL. Secondary: Eyelit, XML, C++Tool Experience: Primary: Microsoft Visual Studio or VS Code. Secondary: Azure DevOps.Multi-threading and Task-based Asynchronous Pattern (TAP) programmingGather requirements, effort estimation, design, development, unit testing, deployment, and production support.Outstanding communication and documentation skillsWork in and out of a clean room environment involving standing for long periods of timeDetail oriented and a desire to make continuous improvementsWilling to learn new applications/technologiesAssume oversight on an existing code base and make staged releases without the need for initial refactorMust possess ability to write functional code without the assistance of AIDesired:Previous work in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.Experience using vendor libraries and conducting hardware I/O commands (robotics)Experience probing the electrical characteristics of silicon wafersMES/ERP integration experienceUnderstanding of data analysisProficiency in MS Office productsAI-forward engineering (but not AI-dependent)Physical Demands:· Standing, walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel, and talk or hear under one-third of the time.· Sitting one-third to two-thirds of the time.Work Environment:Onsite position requires physical interaction with hardware; no fully remote option availableMay potentially handle hazardous waste in accordance with the safe work practices defined in Hazardous Communication and Hazardous Waste training programs. Initial training is required upon hiring status and every 3 years thereafter. Employees handling hazardous waste will insure that waste containers in their work areas are properly labeled and dated. Employees will ensure that waste containers are closed after transferring waste to them. Report any incidents involving hazardous waste to supervisor.Other:· Other duties as may be assigned.· Each employee's primary objective is to assure that the quality, delivery and cost controls within his/her control meet or exceed all of our internal and external customers' requirements.· Each employee is required to abide by the Employee Handbook and the rules and regulations explained and provided at each orientation and training session.
