Candidates will be able to gain exposure to the full product life cycle from pre-silicon to commercialization of Qualcomm chipsets.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Power and Limits software engineer, candidates will own or participate in one or more of the following:Multiple aspects of software development - analyzing the requirements, designing robust software solutions, and ensuring that the power efficiency is met, for current and next generation chipsets to meet the growing product requirements on processors across various subsystems on the SoCPerform detailed analysis of the existing software to provide innovative recommendations to improve performance, memory, and power utilization, including software optimizations, SW/HW partitioning, new algorithms etc.Develop tools for silicon profiling, validation and debugging across all SOC componentsInvolvement in pre-silicon evaluations and sign-offsScope opportunities for HW acceleration by providing recommendations to the HW teamPersonal Attributes / Soft SkillsDesire to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high expectationsPassionate for building great products, with a willingness to disrupt the status quo and push boundaries to deliver innovations that affect the experience of millions of end usersStrong analytic and problem solving skillsExcellent technical communication and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and quick-learnerMeticulous attention to detailTechnical DomainsProduct feature areas include, but are not limited to:Developing firmware for memory and CPU constrained systemsAnalyzing the execution efficiency of power softwareManaging the performance/thermal efficiency tradeoffsSOC level interactions between various software componentsMachine learning on data sets spanning across generations of product architectures,IoE/IoT sectors, andWorking with various HLOS (eg: Android) on application cores to meet end-to-end performanceMinimum Qualifications• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience. OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field. • 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Preferred Qualifications4 years to 8 years of academic or industry experience in the following:Computer Architecture (ARM architecture preferred)Real Time Operating SystemsC/ASM programmingDebugging Real Time Embedded Systems using JTAG or equivalentCompilers / LinkersPython ScriptingAbility to read hardware programming guides and write drivers/software based on that informationEmbedded softwareMachine LearningAgile development; KanbanVersion control systems such as Perforce/GitPay Range and Other Compensation & Benefits$111,300.00 - $166,900.00The above pay scale reflects the broad, minimum to maximum, pay scale for this job code for the location for which it has been posted.
