Essential Job Responsibilities



  • Design, develop, test, and maintainJava-based software solutions and capabilities .


  • Apply modern Java frameworks and libraries to develop scalable, reliable software solutions.


  • Design and develop enterprise APIs, RESTful web services, and microservices-based applications.


  • Build, maintain, and support Kubernetes deployments using tools such asHelm and Flux .


  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and develop effective solutions in a fast-paced environment.


  • Maintain strong testing practices and contribute to the quality, reliability, and performance of software solutions.


  • Stay current with emerging software development technologies, tools, and industry practices.


  • Seamlessly transition between hands-on development and technical leadership.


  • Mentor and support fellow engineers while contributing to the overall growth and success of the team.


  • Collaborate effectively with engineers, architects, customers, and other stakeholders.


  • Perform additional duties as assigned.



Minimum Qualifications



  • Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance or higher is required at the time of hire.


  • U.S. citizenship is required.


  • 9+ years of relevant Software Engineering experience, including experience with modern Java frameworks and libraries such as Spring and Guava, with aBachelor’s degree in a related field; OR


  • 7+ years of relevant experience with aMaster’s degree in a related field; OR


  • High School Diploma or equivalent with13+ years of relevant experience .


  • Strong Java software development experience.


  • Experience designing enterprise APIs and developingRESTful web services .


  • Experience withmicroservices architecture .


  • Experience building and maintainingKubernetes deployments using tools such as Helm and Flux.


  • Experience working within theAgile software development lifecycle .


  • Experience with theLinux operating system .


  • Experience with configuration management and development tools such asGit, Nexus, and Maven .


  • Demonstrated experience serving as atechnical lead, mentor, or manager for engineering teams.


  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.


  • Proven ability to learn quickly and work effectively both independently and collaboratively.


  • Ability to work in a hybrid environment, spending an average oftwo days per week in the San Antonio office . Flexibility is required to accommodate changes in customer or team schedules as needed.



Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with cloud technologies such asAWS or Azure .


  • Experience designing and developing custom Kubernetes tooling, includingoperators and custom CRDs .


  • Experience with additional programming languages such asGo and Python .


  • Experience developing automation using CI/CD tools such asGitLab CI/CD pipelines .


  • Experience with distributed databases, NoSQL databases, and full-text search technologies such asElasticsearch, MongoDB, or Solr .


  • Scripting and automation experience.


  • Previous experience with or familiarity withBig Data Platforms .


  • Strong understanding of Agile software development methodologies and common development and collaboration tools such asJira, Confluence, and GitHub Enterprise .
