Akkodis is seeking a C++ Software Engineer to join a technology company developing advanced communications solutions for mission-critical environments.
This role is ideal for an early-to-mid-career developer who genuinely enjoys working in C++ and wants to expand their experience with Linux/Unix, networking, and real-time communications.
Salary Range: $70,000-80,000/annually, the rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, and enhance applications primarily using C++
- Contribute to software architecture and object-oriented design decisions
- Develop features supporting reliable, real-time communications
- Work within Linux, Unix, or FreeBSD environments
- Apply IP networking concepts within software applications
- Troubleshoot application and customer-related technical issues
- Participate in peer code reviews, unit testing, and continuous integration processes
- Collaborate with other engineers in an Agile development environment
- Learn specialized technologies associated with VoIP, network communications, and secure communications
- Contribute ideas for improving software, engineering practices, and overall product quality
Qualifications:
- Approximately 2+ years of hands-on C++ development experience, ideally with C++ serving as a primary programming language
- Candidates with strong C++ experience through significant independent, open-source, or personal projects may also be considered
- Understanding of modern C++ concepts, object-oriented programming, and software design principles
- Familiarity with commonly used C++ libraries and tools, including STL; experience with Boost is beneficial
- Experience working with Linux, Unix, FreeBSD, or a comparable operating environment
- Familiarity with IP networking or network programming
- Solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithms
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or comparable practical experience
