This role focuses on embedded software development for next-generation vehicle electronic systems. The Software Engineer will use their strong background in embedded systems, automotive software development, and system-level architecture to collaborate with cross-functional teams from VW Group and external partners to design, develop, and deliver production software.
This includes contributing to proof-of-concept projects and supporting the integration of advanced embedded solutions in future vehicle platforms.Role ResponsibilitiesEmbedded Software Development – (80%)Participate in the definition and design of embedded software for vehicle systemsAssist hardware teams with component selection, schematic reviews, bring-up, and debuggingDevelop/integrate bootloaders, device drivers, kernels, and upgrade mechanismsContribute to base software (BSP), MCAL, drivers, diagnostics, and debugging toolsSupport hardware verification and board bring-up activitiesInterface with third-party vendors and open-source communities as neededCollaborate with internal teams to gather software requirements, including safety and securityBuild and maintain development infrastructure, including automated testing environmentsEnsure high-quality, validated software feature deliveryLead rapid prototyping efforts to explore innovative hardware/software solutionsOperational Management - (20%)Work closely with contract manufacturers to develop test software for ECU bring-up, validation, and production testingIdentify and mitigate technical and project execution risksEnsure compliance with applicable regulations, standards, and development processes“**” is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
