Software Engineer – PDQ (Remote, Select U.S. States)

As a Software Engineer, you’ll build and maintain the Elixir-based services that power PDQ’s products. You’ll work across the full development lifecycle, from backend systems to customer-facing features, while growing your expertise in Elixir.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining services; collaborating with cross-functional teams; supporting CI/CD practices; troubleshooting production and security issues; participating in code reviews; partnering with UX; and contributing to research and prototyping.
Ideal candidates have 2+ years of professional Elixir experience and familiarity with React, PostgreSQL, and LaunchDarkly. You should be skilled in SQL, database migrations, Git workflows, test-driven development, debugging, and secure coding practices. Strong communication skills and the ability to quickly understand complex codebases are essential. Open-source involvement is a plus.
