Software Engineer – Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A)

• $130,000–$180,000 Base + Bonus

About the Opportunity

A leading global proprietary trading firm is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Business Performance & Analytics (BP&A) team. This role focuses on back-end development, automation, and building scalable tools that support finance, trading, and middle-office operations. You will collaborate with global teams to develop data-driven solutions, optimize business processes, and deliver impactful analytics tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain back-end applications and business intelligence tools.
• Build scalable data pipelines, dashboards, and visualization solutions.
• Automate workflows and optimize data processing and system performance.
• Partner with finance, trading, operations, and BI teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Support database development, system integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Technologies & Skills

• Programming: Python, SQL
• Front-End: React (preferred)
• Cloud: AWS or other cloud platforms
• Containers & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes
• CI/CD & Development Tools: GitLab CI, Jira
• AI-Assisted Development: Claude Code, Codex, Cursor
• Data Engineering: Data pipelines, database development, data processing, and visualization
• Additional Experience: Financial systems, AI/ML engineering, or business intelligence (preferred)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Econometrics, or a related quantitative field.
• 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong back-end development skills with Python and SQL.
• Experience working in cloud-based and containerized environments.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate with global teams in a fast-paced trading environment.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary: $130,000–$180,000 USD

Eligible for a discretionary bonus and comprehensive benefits, including paid leave and insurance.
