Full Stack Software Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable web applications. You will work across the stack to implement new features, improve system performance, and deliver high-quality software in an agile environment. The role emphasizes pragmatic engineering, strong collaboration with product and design teams, and a focus on reliability and maintainability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Ruby on Rails and/or Python.
  • Develop responsive, accessible front-end interfaces with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define requirements and ship features end-to-end.
  • Write automated tests (unit, integration, end-to-end) and maintain test coverage to ensure software quality.
  • Participate in code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and share best practices across the team.
  • Own deployment pipelines and contribute to CI/CD, monitoring, and incident response processes.
  • Optimize application performance and scalability, including database queries and caching strategies.
  • Document architecture, design decisions, and operational runbooks.
  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance considerations are integrated into the development lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years as a Sofwtare Engineer
  • Proven experience with Ruby on Rails and building RESTful APIs.
  • Strong JavaScript skills and experience with modern frameworks
  • Experience with Python for backend services, scripts, or automation.
  • Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases, schema design, and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks, TDD practices, and automated testing tools.
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling, containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Proficient with Git, branching strategies, and collaborative workflows.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, clear communication, and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
